Dawson & Amelia's Favourite Local Holiday Resort -The Little Meow Cattery

Published by Kim, Dawson & Amelia on

Majority of cats will settle perfectly happily (so the cattery experts say) into a kitty cat resort / cattery, contrary to the emotional feelings of the majority of kitty cat owners saying goodbye and leaving their precious ones. It normally takes one or two days for the cat to become familiar and settled within new surroundings whether it is a cattery or a family holiday location. (It might take a few more days for some owners to settle if their fur babies are on holidays!!!) The settling time for the cat allows them to feel safe and secure and know that their essential food is going to be readily and routinely available to them.

It is good to research cattery options and seek recommendations. Clean and hygienic conditions are important for kitty and the kitty carer to feel comfortable leaving their fur babies. Current vaccination certification is essential for the safety of your cat as cat flu is very contageous within the cat community and hence it can spread very easily to other cats.  A well designed cat partitional lodging is essential for kitty to have enough room for separate sleeping, eating and toiletry needs. Ask the cattery carer what the cat will be fed? is there catering to individual needs? - especiallly if special dietry requirements are needed or if fur baby is food choosy! Always plan ahead for bookings so you do not miss out once you find your ideal cattery.

Dawson and Amelia take along a kitty bag of their special dietry requirements and medications together with an information sheet of handy instructions, their owner / my contact details, our local vet details, a couple of their fav toys and sometimes their bedding or a blanket which has their familiar scent on it.

The Little Meow Cattery is one of Dawson and Amelia's favourite local retreat destinations in Melbourne.
