Nutritional Support for your Cat Before and After Surgery and Catheterization.

Published by Kim, Dawson & Amelia on

Surgery creates three main problems for your cat:-

1) Stress

2) Danger of Infection

3) Scarring

Antistress supplements can be given 3 x a day for two weeks before and two weeks after surgery. It is also suggested by the 'Natural Cat' guide by Anitra Frazier that 3 small meals a day instead of  their usual two meals a day is better as this is an opportunity to mix in the antistress supplements and get it down into their system. These supplements help to fight germs and viruses and promote healing of tissue that has been scarred or damaged due to surgery or wounds.

Always take expert advice from your Veterinarian and your Pet Nutritionist provider. Antistress supplements are :-

  • Vitamin B
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E
  • Calcium
  • Vitamin A & D
  • Feline Digestive Enzymes
  • Herbs (infusion of tea such as a tablespoon of camomile, rosehip or fenugreek tea into their wet food and or drinking water).
