Is Garlic good for your Kitty Cat?
Published by Kim, Dawson & Amelia on
Garlic is a natural food herb and is known as 'natures antibiotic', so good for humans and your cat. It is an inexpensive and humble herb and has been used for nursing colds etc. over the centuries. It has been confirmed through modern laboratory testing that it does have antiviral, antibacterial, antithrombotic and antiparasitic properties and can aid in the expulsion in intestinal parasites, help red pesty fleas, can lower blood sugar, alkalize the body system and strengthen the intestinal walls.
As cat’s mouths are very sensitive, raw garlic is not recommended direct to their mouth due to a strong burning sensation experienced. It is therefore recommended by herbalists and holistic veterinarians to administer mild 'deodorized' garlic oil from capsules.
Dawson and Amelia has garlic oil from a capsule (snipped from one end with scissors) and sprinkled onto their food. They have limited dry food, however as treats I sprinkled one capsule of the low odour garlic oil onto their dry food occasionally together with other essential oils for their diet.
