Kitty Cat Allergies And How You Can Support Your Fur Baby.
Published by Kim, Dawson & Amelia on
A Cat Allergy is a symptom not a disease generally speaking. The symptom usually indicates that the cat has a damaged or weakened immune system which is reacting to a harmless substance or to the body itself as in the autoimmune diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome, arthritis, asthma, feline leukenia, feline AIDS, feline infectious peritonitis or allergic dermatitis. Runny nosy, runny eyes and sneezing does not always mean the allergic reaction is caused by an offending substance in the air as it could be internal. It may also not be the offending substance but a weakened immune system of the cat in which case the cat's adrenals, liver and pancreas requires strengthening.
Allergies and autoimmune diseases can be caused by a combination of factors:-
- Using pet foods containing mouldy and rancid meat and grain
- Feeding you cat foods containing colourings and preservatives
- Inbreeding can cause health problems, deformaties, behaviour and instinctive problems
- A diet of complete cooked foods can progressively weaken the immune system of a cat, hence at least 50% of a cat's diet should be raw.
Suggestions and Recommendations
- Refer your cat to a Holistic / Homeopathic Veterinarian for a diagnosis
- Cortisone and steroids can further damage the immune system.
- Avoid all insecticides, chemical flea preparations, room deodorizers, fabric softeners, tobacco smoke, strong chemical cleaners, and plants that cause allergies.
- A raw food diet adding required vitamins and supplements (mouse mix) and Vitamin B complex to the raw food.
- Use filtered, spring or distlled water only for their drinking, adding to their food and in broth preparation
- Use organic raw food where possible due to the hormone and pesticides etc sprayed onto food.
- High-calcium organic chicken, lamb or mutton broth
- Vitamin C has an antihistamine effect (Higher dose)
- Use of supplements, vitamins and herbal remedies as related to the diagnosis and recommendation.
- Bach Rescue Remedy soothes and calms and reduces stress in the cat.
