Book recommendation: Your Cat - Simple New Secrets to a Longer, Stronger Life

Published by Kim, Dawson & Amelia on

Fresh is best, as they say! This not only applies to us humans it also applies to our loving furry pets.

We have heard that the healthiest areas to shop in the supermarkets are generally starting from the outer side aisles of fresh fruit, vegetables and meat. The inner aisles consist of tinned, bottled and packet foods which contain fewer nutrients and typically sugar, salt and preservatives in varying quantities.

Have we ever wondered what contents are in our cat/pet tin and dry foods in the pet aisles? Have we ever wondered why outdoor farm cats can live a generally healthy long life up to 20-25 years, while our domesticated city and regional indoor fur babies only live 12-16 years of age on average?

Cats are ‘obligatory’ carnivores - meat-eaters, requiring meat and the nutrients found in meat which is essential for their survival. This is critically different from our ‘omnivore’ loving dogs. Collaborated information from professional and trusting sources such as Veterinarians, Nutritionists and Pet Authors etc. provide excellent credible information for your pet’s diet, health and wellbeing. Artificial flavours and colours in pet foods are not pet food - they are chemicals that undermine pet health.  It is so important to read the product labels. It is about 'quality' of food and contents not quantity. Inspirational and educational studies are available for the health conscious cat guardians offering choices and guidelines for your beloved cat that you may not have been aware of as knowledge and holistic care continues evolving for our kitty's requirements. Our imPAWtant news will bring you fun and informative readings. As Dawson and Amelia say 'no cheap crappy food 'round here'!

One of the many books I have read is titled - Your Cat - Simple New Secrets to a Longer Stronger Life by Elizabeth M Hodgkins. A thoroughly recommended read to enhance your cat knowledge about a cat’s life and their requirements.
